HD673 The Church as Community of Moral Discourse

This course uses the social interpretation of the church as a human community as presented in theological ethicist James Gustafson’s classic work, Treasure in Earthen Vessels (1961), as a point of departure for exploring the barriers to and dynamics of moral discourse in communities of faith. Students will develop models of moral discourse for application in congregations or other group settings in which they practice ministry.
