HD648 Eschatology: The Groaning of Creation
Eschatology has assumed a dominant position in contemporary Christian theological reflection. This course will explore the development of the doctrine of eschatology and key thinkers in its contemporary resurgence. We will examine personal and especially cosmic dimensions of the doctrine. For what can we hope, for creaturely life and for the life of the world? How does the church embody a “hopeful realism” that proclaims life and newness in the midst of an evolving world of perpetual perishing?
