Updated Schedule, New Event Added during Resurrection: New Song, New Life: January Seminars - January 27-30, 2013

The Center for Lifelong Learning is pleased to share the updated schedule of events and workshop descriptions for “Resurrection: New Life, New Song.”

The conference has added an informal Reception and Artist Review on Tuesday, January 28 from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM in the Harrington Center Chapel Lobby. Conference attendees will sing along as they share hymn or Psalm texts and creations of liturgical art or other renditions of Eastertide artistic expressions created prior to or during the conference workshops.  Participants may bring work with them; we regret that only art of registered participants will be included.  Special attention to images based on Psalms and hymnody of Easter are encouraged.

Two special events and all worship services are open to the general public. At 5:00 PM on Sunday evening, Three Days/Three Ways: A Triduum Festival of Psalms will take place in the Campbell Hall Chapel on campus. Seminary musician and Psalm expert Michael Morgan will lead this evening service, a journey of orientation, disorientation and reorientation from Good Friday through Easter Sunday. On Monday evening at 7:00 PM, theologian and hymn writer Mary Louise “Mel” Bringle, chair of the Presbyterian Committee on Congregational Song, will lead New Life, New Song: A Festival of Hymns, Psalms, and Spiritual Songs from Glory to God, the new Presbyterian hymnal. This event will take place at the Columbia Presbyterian Church adjacent to the seminary campus.
