Conference for CTS Graduates in Their
Early Years of Ministry
This annual event is designed for chaplains, pastors, associate pastors,
campus ministers, and validated ministry workers engaged in first/early
call ministry. It is an opportunity to continue lifelong learning
for ministry in a familiar setting, among seminary classmates and
friends. Participants will reflect upon the post-graduation journey
into ministry, and address important issues in pastoral ministry.
Leadership includes Columbia Seminary faculty and experienced pastors.
There will be time for informal discussions, to share stories, and
reconnect with colleagues.
Three graduating classes are invited to the same conference to allow
for broad participation by those who have been unable to attend previously,
those who forged meaningful friendships across class boundaries, and
for those who recently began a first or new call. The 2009 event will take
place March 10-12, and the basic degree classes of 2005, 2006, and 2007 are
invited to participate. Deadline for applications is February 6, 2009.
To apply, send an email with the following information to Lifelong
Learning/Continuing Education (
ericksons@ctsnet.edu):
your name, church, address, phone, email, and a brief answer to two
questions: 1) What are some of the most important ministry concerns
and needs you have discovered in the time since you graduated from
Columbia? and 2) Why do you wish to participate in the Learning Together
in Ministry conference?
Thanks to the generous support of the President's Advisory Council
and other donors, the only cost to participants is transportation
to and from the event. Room and board (Harrington Center and the Refectory)
and conference materials are provided.
