Explore Social Networking Media for Your Congregation July 26-29
Social networking media can be valuable for a church’s efforts in inviting, welcoming, event planning, pastoral care, mission, education, and community formation. But many congregations aren't quite sure just what to do with Twitter, or blogs. A recent FAITH AND WORKS blog in the Louisville, KY Courier-Journal outlines some of the questions AND some of the possibilities social networking media offers to congregations.
During Summer Scholars 2010, participants will learn how to plan, launch, and maintain social networking media (blogs, Facebook, ConstantContact, Twitter, Skype, YouStream, etc.). Each congregation could end up creating FOUR types of social networking media ready to launch and use at home - Facebook, ConstantContact (email) Twitter and a blog.
Don't worry - we'll have sessions for beginners and those with more experience who are looking to take their church Facebook page or blog to another level.
Keynoters: CTS President Steve Hayner and Georgia Institute of Technology’s Susan Wyche.
