WHO MAY USE THE JOHN BULOW CAMPBELL LIBRARY

The John Bulow Campbell Library is an integral part of the educational program of Columbia Theological Seminary, a private, educational institution of the Presbyterian Church (USA). There are four categories of library users who are can use the John Bulow Campbell Library collections and facilities.

CATEGORY A

Columbia Theological Seminary students, faculty, staff, and their immediate families. These library users are offered full use of the library collections and services, but are asked to use discretion in the number of items checked out in any given subject.

Circulation limit:
Faculty, staff, and advanced degree students = ordinarily 50 items.
Basic degree students = ordinarily 20 items.
Family members = 6 items.

CATEGORY B

  • CTS alumni/ae.

  • Atlanta Theological Association (ATA) and Atlanta Regional Consortium of Higher Education students, faculty, and staff.

  • Ministers serving in the greater Atlanta area* except those enrolled in a non-ATA or non-ARCHE academic degree program.

  • Members of the PCUSA who reside in greater Atlanta.*

  • Residents of the city of Decatur (30030 zip code only).

*Greater Atlanta is defined as the 10 counties in the Atlanta Regional Commission: Cherokee, Clayton. Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale.

Conditions:
    -no annual user fee
    -six item check-out limit

ARCHE students, faculty, and staff must present proper identification and a current interlibrary use card at time of application.

ATA students, faculty, and staff must present proper identification and a current ATA card at time of application.

CATEGORY G

Designated staff and researchers from the Glenmary Research Center.

Conditions:     No annual user fee
    12 item check-out limit

CATEGORY C

Those who do not meet the above requirements, including members of non-ATA or non-ARCHE schools, and members of the general public outside the city of Decatur, may use the library with a CTS Special Library Identification Card issued upon application, address verification, approval of the Director of the Library, and payment of a $100.00 annual fee.

Conditions:
    $100.00 annual fee
    Six item check-out limit
    Special CTS Library Identification Card

NOTE:
A valid JBCL Library ID card with a library user barcode label is required for all library users. Users must present their blue and yellow Library Card when checking out library items.

All Non-Category A applicants must complete an Application for Library Privileges which must be approved by the Director of the Library. Library privileges may be revoked if Library policies are broken. The Director of the Library has the right to waive the annual fee.
