Randy Calvo Sermons to Be Broadcast on Day 1, January 6 and 13
Decatur, GA—Columbia’s Director of Alumni/ae and Church Relations, Randy Calvo, will be featured for two consecutive Sundays on Day 1, a nationally broadcast radio program. Each program includes a sermon by Calvo with interviews conducted by the program’s host and executive producer, Peter Wallace.
Calvo's January 6 sermon, titled “The Main Thing,” is based on the story of the visit of the wise men in Matthew 2:1-12, the text appointed for the Day of Epiphany. In his second sermon, “Baptism Made Real,” Calvo will explore the meaning of Christ’s baptism in Matthew 3:13-17, and share ways to make that meaning more relevant to our lives today.
Day 1 is the voice of the mainline Protestant church on radio, TV, and online. The weekly program presents outstanding preachers from the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, Episcopal Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Presbyterian Church (USA), United Church of Christ, United Methodist Church, and other denominations.
