Columbia Hosts Presbyterian Writers’ Workshop, April 23-24
Decatur, GA— Columbia Theological Seminary will host the Presbyterian Writers’ Workshop, April 23-24, in the Harrington Center on the seminary campus. Sponsored by the Presbyterian Writers’ Guild, the workshop is designed to help seasoned and beginning writers nurture their writing skills and gain practical ideas for successful publication. Participants will also have opportunities for personal consultations with published writers, literary agents, and publishers. Cecil Murphey, author or co-author of more than 100 books, including the New York Times bestseller 90 Minutes in Heaven, is the keynote speaker.
Other workshop leaders include Vince Patton, from Westminster John Knox Press; Jerry Van Marter of Presbyterian News Service; and literary agent Deidre Knight. The event will also feature published writers James Clinefelter, H. Michael Brewer, Mitali Perkins, Patrick Borders, and Twila Belk, who is also a publicist.
The program fee is $250 ($180 for guild members). Meals and housing are extra.
