Resources for Supervised Ministry

Students interested in learning more about our Supervised Ministry program may find the following resources helpful.

Master of Divinity Degree

  1. Code of Ethics for Supervised Ministry: Before beginning of any internship, the supervisor and intern both agree to abide by this faculty-approved code of ethics.

  2. Administrative Covenant: Once a student and congregation are approved to serve together, the Administrative Covenant is used to define responsibilities, compensation, lines of authority and other administrative agreements.

  3. Learning Covenant: Developed in the first two weeks of the internship, the Learning Covenant is used to clarify the intern's learning goals and pastoral activities, as well as a plan for supervision.

  4. Evaluation of Supervised Ministry: At the completion of an internship, the Supervising Pastor completes and submits this assessment of the intern's work in the Teaching Congregation.

Doctor of Ministry Degree

  1. Guidelines for the D.Min. Practicum: Detailed outline of policies, structures, and requirements for the D.Min. practicum. The student and practicum supervisor should consult these guidelines throughout the practicum.

  2. Proposal of D.Min. Practicum (Form 3): Prior to the practicum, the D.Min. student submits this proposal to the Office of Supervised Ministry for approval.

  3. Learning Covenant for the D.Min. Practicum: Negotiated between the supervisor and D.Min. student at the outset of the practicum, this covenant clarifies the student's learning goals, as well as pastoral activities and a plan for supervision that will be followed in the practicum.

Doctor of Educational Ministry Degree

  1. Guidelines for the D.Ed.Min. Practicum: Detailed outline of policies, structures, and requirements for the D.Ed.Min. practicum. The student and practicum supervisor should consult these guidelines throughout the practicum.

  2. Proposal of D.Ed.Min. Practicum: Prior to the practicum, the D.Ed.Min. student submits this proposal to the Office of Supervised Ministry for approval.
