Course Description

ATA472 or P639 Reading Freud in a Postmodern Time

A seminar looking at various topics such as gender, sexual identity and development, social constructions of race and culture, models of conscious and unconscious, theories of human motivation and desire, etc. by pairing readings in Freud with contemporary readings from the psychoanalytic literature and other sources. Theological and spiritual implications will be considered throughout in relation to the practice of pastoral psychotherapy.
