Course Description

P131 Introduction to Christian Worship

Christian worship has taken various forms from the earliest days of the church. This course will survey the diversity of liturgical expression in the Western church throughout the centuries and in our own time, while also considering the common elements that all Christian worshipers share. Special attention will be given to the theology and practice of baptism and the Lord's Supper. Students will also explore themes such as the Christian year, liturgical space, music and the arts.
