Contemporary Voices in Prophetic Preaching
Explores some of the insights of a select group of contemporary prophets, to see how to include their thinking in our preaching, while being sensitive to the present mind-set of our congregations. Major attention will be given to the prophetic preaching of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., along with the work of Walter Brueggemann, Cornell West, and Lewis Baldwin. Participants will have an opportunity to preach or share written reflections in class.
