Course Description

ATA435 Ethics in Marriage and Family Therapy and Pastoral Counseling

In this course, mainly by reading, discussion, and narrative clinical experiences, we will engage ethical issues in marriage and family practice in particular, and pastoral counseling in general, including material related to professional examination and licensure. Since this is a ThD degree, we will also discuss some of the religious and theological issues involved, closing with reflections on the “character” of therapy and therapists.
