Course Description

B743 The Book of Daniel & Its Consequences

Analyzes the book of Daniel and traces its interpretation and use in Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities in various modes (e.g. theology, liturgy, visual art, music, philosophy, drama, eschatological prognostication, political argumentation, and film). It focuses on important questions raised by the book of Daniel as well as crucial interpretive problems as they feature in the history of this biblical text.
