Exegesis of the Hebrew text of Kings. Topics will include the origin and shape of the so-called Deuteronomistic History, the nature of prophecy in Israel and the ancient Near East, and the rise and fall of Israelite and Judean monarchies. Hebrew is a prerequisite.
