| Doctor
of Ministry
This is your invitation to consider advanced studies in Columbia's
Doctor of Ministry program. This is a leadership development program
designed for experienced pastors of any denomination who are currently
engaged in ministry in the North American or Caribbean settings.
Usually completed in four years, Columbia’s D.Min. allows
students to focus their research and studies in one of the following
areas of concentration:
The program of study includes an introductory seminar specific
to the student's area of concentration, elective
courses, and a supervised practicum. In addition, students complete
a research project which focuses on renewal in ministry for the
larger church and includes a significant research paper to report
on their findings.
Each year the seminary presents the Telford Award
to an outstanding D.Min. graduate. The
research paper of that graduate is posted online.
In 2007, the seminary awarded the
John Nelsen Award to the best Doctor of Ministry project which focuses on Old Testament texts, images, and themes. The
research paper of that graduate is posted online.
