“Reading the Journal for Preachers is like talking with wise colleagues about how and why we do what we do. It is a sure cure for stuck preachers and guaranteed solace for those who are isolated.” Barbara Brown Taylor

When people ask us what makes Journal for Preachers different from other preaching resources, we point to the beginning. The Journal was created by a group of preachers and pastors convinced that preaching should be theologically solid, biblically alert, culturally aware, and prophetically energized. They were concerned that much preaching today lacks depth and substance, and they wanted to create a forum to share ideas and to strengthen their own preaching and the preaching of others. Journal for Preachers was founded, in other words, by serious preachers for serious preachers. For more than 25 years, Journal for Preachers has engaged in a lively discussion of the issues that matter the most in preaching. We look forward to your joining this conversation.
