Educating imaginative, resilient leaders for God's changing world.

Linda Morningstar trades daily schedule for freedom-of-choice time

by Sarah Erickson

So long, farewell, adieu!

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” So says the writer of Ecclesiastes. And so comes the time for Lifelong Learning Associate Director Linda Morningstar to retire.

We receive this news with gratitude and regret. We are grateful for Linda’s years of faithful service and the many well-planned, well-received events she has coordinated.

We are grateful, too, for her editorial and organizational skills, and her collective wisdom and memory about all matters of lifelong learning history and events.

We regret the departure of a fine colleague and collaborator, an imaginative leader of devotions and crafter of lessons and event concepts.

Linda has been on the staff in the Harrington Center for more than 15 years. She began working as a part-time staff associate in the (former) Lay Institute of Faith and Life while earning the Master of Arts in Theological Studies degree here.

Among the programs she has coordinated have been the annual summer Presbyterian Women/Horizons Bible studies, Summer Scholars, Guthrie Scholars, the Immigrant Lay Leader Training certificate programs, a Theology & Literature series, Faith & Film series, seminars on ethics and theology in the workplace, and an eco-kayaking travel-with-a-purpose event.

She has served as editor for the e-newsletter Journeying Together.

Please join us in wishing Linda well as she enters into this next phase of her life and ministry – a time of “freedom of choice,” and freedom from the office!

Until a new associate director is on board, please direct any inquiries about programs that Linda resourced to Sarah Erickson, director (ericksons@ctsnet.edu, 404-687-4526) or Christine Trotman, staff associate (trotmanc@ctsnet.edu, 404-687-4577).

Linda’s last day in the office was December 15.
