Master of Divinity
The starting place for a variety of professional ministries, a Master of Divinity degree may lead to careers such as pastor, teacher, evangelist, chaplain, missionary, or a variety of ordained church leadership opportunities. Full-time students complete this 31 course program in three years. Educating the mind, heart, and spirit, the MDiv program provides a common core of intellectual and practical learning that readies students for a vocation of faith.
Columbia Theological Seminary's MDiv program challenges students to look anew at Christian tradition and reflect upon its contemporary significance. It prepares them to transform that reflection into action in ministry with the people of God. From critical perspectives-biblical, historical-doctrinal, and practical-faculty and students examine the crucial challenges of ministry today. Biblical studies, theology, worship, church history, and pastoral leadership provide the grounding for dynamic ministry.
Students in this program have the option of pursuing a dual degree with the Masters of Arts in Practical Theology degree program to add specialization.
Prospective MDiv students are encouraged to attend one of our Seminary Weekends in Decatur, GA near Atlanta, offered in November and February of each year.
