July 23, 2016—Columbia Theological Seminary President Leanne Van Dyk has announced that the Rev. Brandon T. Maxwell will be appointed as the new Dean of Students. Currently, Rev. Maxwell serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and as Pastor of Worship & Spiritual Formation at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta.

“Brandon stood out as a gifted candidate with rich experiences in business management, pastoral ministry, and academic administration,” said President Van Dyk who made the appointment. “He understands both how to organize systems and engage people personally, which is a valuable combination for our community.”

In a response, the Rev. Maxwell stated, “I am excited to join the Columbia Seminary community this fall and partner with students, faculty, and staff to create a vibrant student life experience that takes seriously the vocational, spiritual, and personal development of our students.”
