Educating imaginative, resilient leaders for God's changing world.

Student Preaching Weekend

Columbia & Academics / Admissions & Aid / Students & Campus Life / Alumni & Alumnae / Pastors & Community

Date: 9/17/2013

We have received a request from CTS alum, the Rev. Joe Evans in Columbia, TN (near Nashville) to visit with his and several other nearby congregations the weekend of November 9-10, 2013. Students are invited to participate in this experience. We see this as a wonderful educational opportunity for you that also puts a face on Columbia Seminary for folks on the pew. We'll drive to our host church on Saturday the 9th, enjoy dinner with the folks there and get you to your assigned destination. We'll leave Sunday afternoon after lunch and arrive back on campus Sunday night. All of your expenses will be paid, as well as an appropriate honorarium for your leadership on Sunday morning. This is a time of fun, fellowship and continuing education, as well as an opportunity to promote CTS. It may also generate personal and church connections that will positively impact your future search for a first call.  The churches are interested in hearing about your call to ministry and your seminary experience. To participate you need to have completed at least one preaching course or have had previous preaching experience. We have a limited number of spaces available on a first come, first serve basis. So please be quick to respond to Barbara Poe at 404-687-4566 or poeb@ctsnet.edu no later than Monday, September 23 in order for us to make plans with the churches there.
