Bethesda Presbyterian Church Pastor Receives Award for Biblical Scholarship at Columbia Seminary Commencement


Decatur, GA.—Jon Kyle Goodman, associate pastor of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Lyman and Myki Mobley Prize in Biblical Scholarship on May 16 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. The Mobley Prize is a cash award given to a student or faculty member doing exemplary work in the field of biblical scholarship as it relates to worship and the work of the church. Goodman is from Eden, NC, and holds the B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is one of 84 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
