Area Native Receives Award for Biblical Scholarship at Columbia Seminary Commencement

Decatur, GA.—Eden-area native Jon Kyle Goodman received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Lyman and Myki Mobley Prize in Biblical Scholarship on May 16 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. The Mobley Prize is a cash award given to a student or faculty member doing exemplary work in the field of biblical scholarship as it relates to worship and the work of the church. Goodman holds the B.A. from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He serves as associate pastor of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, in Camden, SC. Goodman is one of 84 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA). xxx
