Seminarian Under Care of Presbytery of the James Receives Preaching Award at Columbia Seminary Commencement
Decatur, GA.—Kevin Michael Day received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of St. Andrew Preaching Award on May 16 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. Day, originally from Westport, CT, is under care of Presbytery of the James. This fall, he begins a year-long residency in clinical pastoral education at Portsbridge Hospice, serving the Atlanta area. He holds the B.A. from The University of Virginia. The Presbytery of St. Andrew Preaching Award is a cash award given to the Master of Divinity student who, in the judgment of the faculty, preaches the best sermon at Columbia during the academic year. Day is one of 84 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
