Princeton Alumnus Receives Award in Theology at Columbia Seminary Commencement

Decatur, GA.—John Victor Landt Weicher (A.B. 2000 with honors) received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Toms-McGarrahan Award in Theology on May 16 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. The Toms-McGarrahan Award recognizes outstanding achievement in the area of Christian theology. The award is given in honor of the Rev. Russell Toms, a 1951 graduate of Columbia, and his daughter Eunice McGarrahan. Weicher is originally from Washington, DC. He serves as director for children, youth, and family ministries at Rock Spring Presbyterian Church, in Atlanta. Weicher is one of 84 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
