Church Member Receives Fellowship During Commencement Exercises at Columbia Seminary
Decatur, GA.—Chul Young Jeon, a member of Bethany Korean Presbyterian Church in Marietta, received the Master of Divinity degree and was awarded the Columbia Friendship Circle Graduate Fellowship on May 14 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. The Columbia Friendship Circle Fellowship, given to an outstanding graduate, recognizes superior academic achievement and provides support for further study. Jeon, of Marietta, holds the B.S.E.E. from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Korea and is a candidate for ministry in Cherokee Presbytery. This fall he enters the Master of Theology program at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey. Jeon is one of 92 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
