Marshall Alumnus Member Receives Youth Ministry Award at Columbia Seminary Commencement
Decatur, GA.— Paul Glenn Hackett received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the William Rivers Waddey Fund Award on May 14 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. The Waddey Fund Award was established by Walter and Cecilia Waddey in memory of their son, William, who was an active and vital part of the youth program at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, in Atlanta. The fund supports an award given to a graduating basic degree student possessing extraordinary gifts for youth ministry and pursuing such a call in the church. Hackett, of Atlanta, GA, is a candidate for ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is seeking a call to parish ministry. Hackett is one of 92 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
