“Being Prepared for Ministry” Conference March 6-8 in St. Petersburg, FL
Decatur, GA.— “Being Prepared for Ministry: Knowledge, Gifts, Skills, and Spiritual Maturity” will be offered March 6-8, 2005, at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, St. Petersburg, FL. The conference is an opportunity for pastors, educators, and lay leaders to address demands of ministry, risks of burnout, and ways to sustain ministry throughout one’s professional life. Co-sponsors are Columbia Theological Seminary, Candler School of Theology of Emory University, and Eckerd College. Conference leadership includes noted church historians Roberta C. Bondi, Catherine G. González, and Justo L. González, along with Dent C. Davis, Beth Luton Cook, and Duncan Ferguson, experienced pastors who serve at the sponsoring institutions. Cost of the conference is $225 before February 1; after February 1, $250. The cost for five meals is $75 (commuters may pay on a per meal basis). A deposit of $100 is required. Lodging is available at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. Rooms are $109-$119 plus tax per night.
