Old Testament Lifelong Learning Course with Walter Brueggemann in February
The Center for Lifelong Learning is offering an opportunity to study the Old Testament with Walter Brueggemann this winter. “Journey for a Holy People…On the Way” will be offered February 16-17 (Friday evening through Saturday afternoon). “In this course, we will study the crisis of holiness in the Old Testament,” says Brueggemann, Old Testament professor emeritus at Columbia Seminary. “The accent will be on becoming holy, on the people of God being ‘on the way’ but never arriving. We will reflect on the contemporary church’s struggle for holiness as a continuation of the dispute already in scripture.” Maximum enrollment is 70. Cost is $150 (includes Saturday lunch) and payment of non-refundable $50 deposit is required to register (housing is extra). To register online, go to http://www.ctsnet.edu/lifelong/calendar/index.asp and click on the date of the event. Or call the registrar at 404-687-4587. Columbia Theological Seminary, located in Decatur, Georgia, was established in 1828 and is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
