University of Georgia Alumnus Receives Preaching Award at Columbia Seminary Commencement
Decatur, GA.— William Frederic Wise received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of St. Andrew Preaching Award on May 20 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. This preaching award is a cash award given to the Master of Divinity student who, in the judgment of the faculty, preaches the best sermon during the academic year. Wise, originally from Covington, GA, also holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wise is one of 121 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
