Andrew Weeks Leads Magnetic Church Conference October 13-14

Decatur, GA.— The Magnetic Church Conference, an event to help area churches explore ways to attract, welcome, and retain new members takes place October 13-14, on the campus of Columbia Theological Seminary. Conference leader is evangelist Andrew D. Weeks, author of Welcome! Tools and Techniques for New Member Ministry. The event is sponsored by the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and the seminary’s Center for Lifelong Learning. Registration deadline is October 2. Weeks will focus on effective greeting ministries, tracking and involving newcomers, structuring groups for growth and making communications more inviting and welcoming. Participants are encouraged to bring with them a copy of their congregational newsletter, bulletin/order of worship, and new member/visitor information, as these materials will be used during the seminar. Registrations must be sent to the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Twenty additional spaces for congregations outside the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta have been reserved. All registrations must be received by October 2, 2006.
