Seminar on Designing and Leading Contemplative Retreats, October 25-28
Decatur, GA-Columbia Theological Seminary’s Center for Lifelong Learning is offering a weekend seminar, October 25-28, called “Be Still: Designing and Leading Contemplative Retreats.” This event is co-sponsored with and will be held at Montreat (NC) Conference Center. The seminar will explore a basic model for contemplative retreats and ways this model can guide retreat design. Ideas for creating specific retreats for different groups will be presented, including practical ideas for themes, schedules and worship experiences. Experienced retreat leaders as well as those with no retreat experience are welcome to this event. The leader is Jane E. Vennard, senior adjunct faculty of prayer and spirituality at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO. Tuition is $375, and meals and lodging are extra.
