Global Ecological Crisis is Focus of 2007 Colloquium, April 16-18
Decatur, GA.—“The Word for a Warming World: The Bible, the Church and the Groanings of Creation” is the topic for Columbia Theological Seminary’s Colloquium 2007, April 16-18 on the seminary’s campus in Decatur, GA. The conference will explore the church’s encounter with global ecological crisis, develop biblical perspectives for Christian care of creation, and offer resources for ministry in times of travail. Featured presenters are Terence Fretheim, author of God and the World in the Old Testament: A Relational Theology of Creation, and Barbara Rossing, author of The Rapture Exposed: The Message of Hope in the Book of Revelation. Barbara Brown Taylor, the acclaimed preacher and author of Leaving Church, will preach at the opening worship service on April 16.
