Brian Wren Authors New Book of Resources for Different Worship Traditions

2008-09-15

Decatur, GA—Brian Wren, professor emeritus of worship at Columbia Theological Seminary, is the author of Advent, Christmas and Epiphany: Liturgies and Prayers for Public Worship to be published in October by Westminster John Knox Press. Prepared for use by different worship traditions, this original work contains theologically sound and creative orders of worship (liturgies) and worship elements such as litanies, calls to worship, thanksgivings, and affirmations of faith. All the worship materials in the book are compatible with the Revised Common Lectionary and suitable also for churches that do not follow the lectionary. To maximize its usefulness the book contains a scripture index, a topical index showing items that can be used throughout the year, and a searchable CD-ROM. Columbia Theological Seminary, located in Decatur, Georgia, was established in 1828 and is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA). xxx
