“Mammon in the Maelstrom,” new issue of atthispoint.net available now
Decatur, GA—Columbia Theological Seminary has released a new issue of its free online journal, atthispoint.net. Titled “Mammon in the Maelstrom,” this issue focuses on the church’s and individual Christians’ responses to economic turmoil. The lead article is “Capitalism, the Crash, and Christianity,” by Mark Douglas, associate professor of Christian ethics at Columbia. Douglas is also co-editor of the journal. Responses to Douglas’s article have been contributed by Timothy J. Sandoval, associate professor of Hebrew Bible, Chicago Theological Seminary; and D. Cameron Murchison, dean of the faculty and executive vice president at Columbia. In addition, Columbia graduate Jill Patterson Tolbert, has contributed free, online lesson plans for adult classes and discussion groups. Developed with church members in mind and published twice a year, atthispoint.net is free and is available only online at http://www.atthispoint.net. Each issue focuses on a particular topic from the perspective of a variety of theological disciplines and includes a lead article, response articles, and teaching resources to guide further discussion. All the content can be downloaded and reproduced without charge.
