VITAS Hospice Staff Chaplain Receives Award in Pastoral Care to the Aging at Columbia Seminary Commencement
Decatur, GA.—Christy Lynnae Maddox-Miller, staff chaplain at VITAS Hospice, received the Master of Divinity degree and was presented the Florie S. Johnson Award on May 16 during commencement exercises of Columbia Theological Seminary. Maddox-Miller is from Kansas City, KS, and holds the B.A. from National-Louis University. The Johnson Award is given to a Master of Divinity graduate who presents the best paper setting forward a plan for pastoral care to the aging, and who shows promise of providing such ministry in a parish. Miller is one of 84 students who received diplomas from one of Columbia’s five degree programs during commencement exercises. Columbia Theological Seminary, founded in 1828, is one of 10 theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
