Public Services Librarian
Columbia Theological Seminary is searching for qualified candidates for the position of Public Services Librarian:
The Public Services Librarian, under the direction of the Director of the Library, is responsible for managing the public services functions of the library, including reference, library instruction, circulation, reserves, serials, and interlibrary loans.  The Public Services Librarian provides leadership in the introduction of new public services, the evaluation of existing services, and the development of policies and procedures in response to the evolving needs of reference and other public services.  The Public Services Librarian works in cooperation with the rest of the Library staff to ensure quality service to all patrons in ways consistent with JBC Library policies and procedures.  This position is classified as full-time, exempt. Writing Instructor
Columbia Theological Seminary is searching for qualified candidates for the position of Writing Instructor, part-time. The Writing Instructor works with the students on writing skills needed to study in any of the Seminary’s graduate programs.  This part-time teaching position requires approximately 800 hours annually (on average, 20 hours per week for 40 weeks per year) including some summer time work. Professor of Preaching
Columbia Theological Seminary, a graduate educational institution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), invites applications and nominations for a faculty position in PREACHING. Preferred qualifications include: experience of preaching regularly as a pastor in a local congregation; a Ph.D. in homiletics, practical theology, or a related field; passion for teaching, including extensive one-on-one work with students; desire to work collegially as part of a homiletics team; and sense of being at home in academic and congregational environments; ability to think critically and theologically on the practice of preaching. Position includes teaching in all programs of the seminary, is tenure track with rank to be negotiated, desired starting date of Fall 2009. Professor of American Religious History
Columbia Theological Seminary invites applications for a faculty position in American Religious History. Preferred qualifications include: an M.Div./MA and Ph.D. or its equivalent in the field; a special interest in Presbyterian and Reformed history and theology in dialogue with the ecumenical church; a demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching that engages diversity in age, ethnicity, gender, and culture; a strong record of research and publications or demonstrated promise for research and writing; and an ordained officer of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
