In reclaiming this spiritual heritage, we will explore some of the major themes of Reformed piety including the nature and priority of God, providence, grace and God’s initiative, union with Christ, sanctification, the sacraments, the divided heart, and daily living before the face of God. Additionally we will explore contemplation and compassion, two critical dimensions that are often missing in the contemporary church yet strongly embedded in Reformed spirituality. Our desire is not to become exclusive and isolated, but rather to discover the treasures of this tradition so that we might enter into more fruitful ecumenical dialogue with others.
