Saturday, May 6, 2017 is World Labyrinth Day. We’ll add our steps for peace to those of others around the world. The Spirituality Program and The Labyrinth Society invite you to “Walk as One at 1” in the afternoon, joining others around the world to create a wave of peaceful energy washing across the time zones. Plan to arrive by 1 pm if you wish to participate in the “Walk as One at 1.” Plan to bring your own lunch or snacks, as this is a self-guided event. The event is open to anyone who loves labyrinths or wants to know more about the practice of labyrinth walking.
According to LabryrinthSociety.org’s website, last year there were over 200 events in 24 countries: Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Finland, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain & the U.S. (including 46 states)!
Although the event is free, registration is required, so we can assure those attending have access to the building. During the registration process, we invite you to support this and future events with a donation, or you may leave an offering (checks or cash) at the event itself.
For those who would like to walk the labyrinth at their own convenience on May 6, the labyrinth will be in the Harrington Center Chapel from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and open to all who register.
For 20 years, The Center for Lifelong Learning at Columbia Theological Seminary has been proud to offer courses in Christian Spirituality. We now offer two certificate programs for clergy or laypersons who wish to deepen their life with God and learn to assist others on their faith journeys.
