Historical Doctrinal Area
HISTORICAL DOCTRINAL AREA encompasses the topics of theology, church history, polity, and ethics. Studies in this area help students understand the past as a means of comprehending the present. Students engaged in these studies also learn to form their own theology and to discover what it means to be Christian today. Courses offered in this area are Christian Theology I & II, History and Presence I & II, Reformed Theology, Presbyterian Polity, a variety of Ethics courses (Theories of Justice and Public Policy, Providence, Theodicy, and Ethics, and The Church as Community of Moral Discourse), and a variety of electives in each of these areas.
