Help with Frequently Asked Questions about the JBC Library

Do I need an account to search the library catalog?
No

I am having trouble opening an online article.
First, try clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser. If that does not work, contact the Digital Access Librarian, Bob Craigmile. CraigmileB@CTSnet.edu or 404.687.4611.

Can I renew my books online?
Yes. You will need your Username and password (both generated by the library). Contact the library for your log in information. CTSlibrary@CTSnet.edu or 404.687.4610.

There is a book/article I want that you don’t have. How do I get it?
Click the Interlibrary Loan link. This takes you to a page that gives you the information you need to submit an interlibrary loan request. Interlibrary loan is available only for current students, faculty, and staff.

Can I place a “hold” on something that’s checked out?
Yes. However, only items that are currently checked out can be held. To place a hold locate the item you wish to have held, select the “place hold” button, and enter your login information and enter the date you wish the hold to expire. How do I get my login information?
Your Username and Password are the same as your CTS credentials.

How do I Check Out and Download eBooks on EBSCOhost to my computer through the WebBased Interface?

  1. Download an eBook title from EBSCOhost by clicking on the “Download” link on the search result page or from within the detailed record.
  2. Create an account in EBSCO or log in to EBSCO. This is a separate log in from the library catalog.
  3. Select your preferred checkout period and click “Checkout & Download.”
  4. eBook is downloaded and viewable via Adobe® Digital Editions* on your computer.*This free software can be installed from the Adobe® website, if not already on your computer or device.

How do I Check Out and Download eBooks on EBSCOhost to Portable Devices?

  1. Download an eBook title from EBSCOhost by clicking on the “Download” link on the search result page or from within the detailed record.
  2. Create an account in EBSCO or log in to EBSCO.
  3. Select your preferred checkout period and click “Checkout & Download.”
  4. Drag and drop the title icon to your portable device.
  5. Read your eBook on your portable device* *In order for a portable device to be used with eBooks on EBSCOhost, it must be compatible with Adobe® Digital Editions.

Why can’t I see the Korean (or other) font in the library catalog?
PC’s must have the Arial Unicode MS font installed. For Apple Mac’s the Lucida Grande font must be installed.
