Certificate in Spiritual Formation Courses

These courses fulfill the requirements to complete the Certificate in Spiritual Formation and are also open to anyone who is interested taking classes as an occasional participant.  You do not need to be enrolled in the certificate program to register.


Required Courses

Immersion Experience: An Invitation to a Deeper Spiritual Life

April 2-5, 2017

Leaders: Jim Dant, Carl McColman and Debra Weir

Location: Montreat Conference Center



Independent study; start and completion dates determined by student and practicum supervisor

Cost: $420 tuition + incidental expenses related to project



Desert Spiritual Traditions of the Southwest Domestic Pilgrimage

November 1 – 13, 2016

Location: Ghost Ranch, NM

Offered in partnership with Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, this pilgrimage will be open to a small number of CSF students who have completed all other requirements of the Certificate in Spiritual Formation.

A Pilgrimage to the Holy Land is tentatively planned for 2017-18. More details to follow.


Elective Courses

While you may take electives of your choosing, you are strongly encouraged to take a well balanced offering of electives including a class from each area: Biblical (B), Historical/Doctrine (HD), and Practical (P).
