March 14, 2018—What was most meaningful to you?
“People’s lives are changed. When you encounter God in new ways and continue to seek that which is deep and true and holy,” says Debra Weir, Associate Director, Spirituality and Lifelong Learning at Columbia Theological Seminary, “Your life changes in way that you can’t anticipate. And that change gets transferred back into local communities of faith.”
Spiritual Direction, often called spiritual companioning or spiritual friendship, is an intentional relationship between a person seeking spiritual guidance and a trained individual (the spiritual director). The Certificate in Spiritual Direction is a 2 1/2 year training program for those seeking to discern and develop their gifts and skills as spiritual directors.
Recently, we spoke with current participants in the Certificate in Spiritual Direction program asking them, “What was most meaningful to you?” We share some of their answers below.
