B852 Luke and Acts

Explores the primary themes and motifs of Luke’s two-volume work, with particular attention to Luke’s eschatology, social agendas, and appropriation of Israel’s prophetic traditions in relation to Roman Imperial religion. We will pay particular attention to passages in the Revised Common Lectionary (especially Year C) for preaching, teaching, and congregational practice.
