Discerning a call to serve God and God’s people in the world is a life-long journey – a journey that begins long before stepping onto Columbia’s campus and continues throughout all of our days. God has created each of us in a beloved and unique way, with gifts and passions that we know about now and those which are yet to be discovered.
At Columbia, we all serve as partners on the journey. Our commitment is to the formation of each person in our midst – intellectually, spiritually, physically, relationally. Through this formation, students create a “toolbox” of resources, which enable them to participate in the practice of discernment, to articulate their journey, and to seek and find places in which to live out their call from God.
Housed within the Office of Student Life and Formation, Vocational Services seeks to integrate vocational discernment and placement services. We partner with the entire community in creating a culture of discernment, providing opportunities for growth and practice, and guiding students with practical job search skills.
