An exploration of love and desire in ancient Israel through the lens of the Song of Songs. Participants will consider the Song’s ancient Near Eastern and canonical contexts, key themes and rhetorical strategies, portraits of desire and longing, and ways in which the poetry and passion of Song of Songs may inform and enliven Christian faith, proclamation, and mission.
