BIG NEWS IN LEADERSHIP IN MINISTRY
We are excited to formally announce the transition of the Leadership in Ministry workshops (LIM) to the Center for Lifelong Learning at the Columbia Theological Seminary. Founded in 1992 by Dr. Lawrence Matthews, this clergy leadership workshop has been helping pastors, congregational leaders, and organizational leaders grow in competence through a theory-based, peer learning model. Matthews served as coordinator through 2010. Dr. Robert Dibble has served as the coordinator since then, continuing the workshops at three locations. In 2014 a workshop was started at the Center for Lifelong Learning on the campus of Columbia Theological Seminary.
Beginning in the spring of 2017 the Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) at Columbia Theological Seminary will assume coordination of the workshops at the Lost River WV, Boston MA, and Portland OR site.
Leadership in Ministry Workshop (Atlanta)
Session I - Nov. 14-16, 2016
Session II – March 6-8, 2017
This post-graduate program is part of the Pastoral Excellence Program at the Center for Lifelong Learning. In this peer-learning, theory-based leadership program participants will learn how the concepts of family emotional process can be applied to their own ministry contexts, and, explore the theological implications of these concepts. This program is comprised of two three-day sessions (fall and spring). Each session follows the themes of Dr. Edwin Friedman’s book, Generation to Generation, with one day devoted to each of the minister’s three interlocking families: the minister’s own personal family (nuclear and extended), congregation member families and the congregation as a family.
The fee of $560 includes all program fees, refreshments, dinner on Monday and breakast & lunch Tuesday - Wednesday are included in your program fee. Dinner Tuesday is on your own. Housing on campus is available for an additional cost.
