Dual Degree Program
A robust degree for theological exploration
Apply Now!The Master of Divinity/Master of Arts in Practical Theology (MDiv/MAPT Dual) offers students a robust opportunity to explore the depth and breadth of theological education. Through the combined curriculum, students engage theological questions and prepare for ministry in the Church and the world. Students also delve more deeply into a particular area of focus. By pursuing the degrees concurrently, students reduce by one year the overall amount of time required to graduate with both degrees.
Why Get a Dual Degree
The MDiv/MAPT Dual is not a separate program, but rather, an opportunity to earn the MDiv and the MAPT in just four years. During this time, students specialize in Educational Ministries, Pastoral Care/Pastoral Theology, or Worship, Preaching, and the Arts.
“I visited the campus, and I just felt the Holy Spirit's presence here. I also saw the classroom setting, and it had a variety of ages, denominations, and backgrounds, and I felt like this was the place for me to understand and learn God through a different lens.”
— Jeremiah Wilson, MDiv/MAPT Student
Beyond our core courses in biblical studies, theology, ethics, Christian history, world Christianities, worship, preaching, educational ministries, pastoral care, and church leadership, MDiv/MAPT students engage in a range of experiences that focus on intersectionality, community building, and the practice of ministry. Additionally, students select an area of concentration within practical theology.
