Preachers Studio for Renewal
Dr. Carter Florence has served on the Columbia faculty for 25 years and currently holds the Peter Marshall Chair in Preaching. She is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). Dr. Carter Florence will co-direct the PSR grant and coordinate and co-facilitate all scripture engagement workshops.
Dr. Myers has served on the Columbia faculty for 9 years and serves as the Wade P. Huie, Jr. Associate Professor of Homiletics. He is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). Dr. Myers will co-direct the PSR grant, co-facilitate scripture engagement workshops and preacher renewal experiences, and create and manage digital resources and peer-learning.
Dr. Myers is a licensed psychologist with two decades of clinical experience in a wide variety of settings, and the owner of Healing Connections Counseling and Consulting, LLC. She is a certified yoga instructor, is a fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, has advanced training in mindfulness meditation, and is experienced in qualitative and quantitative assessment metrics. Dr. Myers will coordinate and co-facilitate the preacher renewal experiences and will assist with program design.
Dr. Galindo directs Columbia’s Center for Lifelong Learning. Dr. Galindo is an expert in program design and assessment, has administered many grants that foster clergy health and wellness, and made the Columbia Center for Lifelong Learning a model for other theological schools. Dr. Galindo will assist with program design and will coordinate the PSR’s assessment and sustainability efforts.
Ashley Lewis is currently enrolled in a post-seminary immersive learning program, called Seminary of the Wild Earth with the Wild Church Network. She has worked in both non-profit and church-based spaces over the last seven years, and her ministry efforts focus on preaching and teaching beyond the human experience for the good of all creation.
In her role as Homiletical Innovation & Logistics Director for the Columbia Preachers Studio for Renewal, Ashley is responsible for assisting the PSR Program Coordinators with the development and implementation of online resources to support the sermon development processes of working preachers and for managing logistical matters for Scripture Engagement Workshops, Pilgrimages, and Restorative Mindfulness & Yoga Retreats.
