Join us at 6:30 pm, May 16 for Baccalaureate Service at Decatur Presbyterian Church (205 Sycamore Street, Decatur, GA 30030) in downtown Decatur, about a mile and a half from the seminary.
We are honored to have Scholar, theologian and author, The Rev. Dr. Renita Weems, Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the Gammon Theological Seminary and the nation’s first black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Old Testament studies as our speaker.
The sanctuary doors will open for seating at 6:00 p.m. There is plenty of open seating to accommodate family, friends, guests, and graduates.
There will be a reception with light refreshments immediately following the service in the Decatur Presbyterian Church Keith Parlor.
Parking is available in the church lot accessible from Church Street, as well as in the Decatur Library parking deck behind the library, which is adjacent to the church, accessible from Sycamore Street. There will also be additional accessible parking for those with mobility issues, directly across Sycamore Street from the Church at the Sycamore House, or in the lane between the Church and the Decatur Library.
